ACEL Energy is a leading provider of innovative energy solutions, helping businesses drive efficiency, sustainability, and cost savings. We are expanding our team and looking for a Business Development Manager to play a key role in our growth.
Role Overview
Due to expansion and rapid growth, we are creating an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager who will drive ACEL Energy's growth by identifying and converting new business opportunities in solar and renewable energy. The role involves working closely with the operations and project delivery team to develop tailored energy solutions, assisting with design, proposal preparation, and tender submissions. It is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to make an impact with ACEL Energy as we continue to expand. You will be skillful at seeking out new business opportunities and building strong customer relationships. Our office is based in Monaghan, however, this is a hybrid role with 1-2 days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver sales strategies to expand ACEL Energy's customer base.
* Identify and convert opportunities in the commercial, industrial, and utility-scale sectors.
* Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers.
* Provide regular sales updates and market insights to management.
* Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activity, and forecasts.
Technical & Solution Sales
* Work closely with the design and technical team to develop energy solutions that meet client needs.
* Assist in preparing proposals, costings, and technical presentations.
* Support in tender submissions and proposal development.
What we are looking for:
* Experience: Minimum 3 years in business development or technical sales within the renewable energy, commercial or utility-scale solar sectors.
* Proven Track Record – Demonstrated success in achieving sales KPIs and business growth.
* Strong Communicator & Self-Starter – Ability to build relationships, work autonomously, and drive sales independently.
* Technical Acumen – Comfortable with solution-based selling and understanding technical concepts.
* Self-Starter: Highly motivated, organised, and capable of working independently while collaborating within a team.
* Education: Third-level qualification in Business, Engineering, Energy, or a related discipline.
* Full Driving Licence and willingness to travel regularly within the region.
