We have an exciting opportunity for a junior to mid-level Mechanical Design Engineer. This role will support our client's design engineering team. You'll work closely with senior engineers and stakeholders across design, construction, and sustainability to help support design activities of new build data centres across EMEA.NotesThis role is based on site in Dublin 5 days per weekSome travel to sites across EMEA may be requiredYou need to have EU Citizenship or a Valid Work permit for IrelandKey ResponsibilitiesSupport general HVAC/ Mechanical design activities for critical infrastructure within new build data centres across EMEA.Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regionsReview and approve equipment submittalsManage design consultancy firms to create, review and release data centre designsWork with internal teams to understand user requirementsWork with internal teams to trouble shoot problems and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CA) for design related problemsDefine project scopes and provide support during construction phasesWork with regional vendors and manufactures to specify the appropriate mechanical equipmentTravel for site review and conduct engineering evaluations, audits, and site launchesParticipate in knowledge-sharing, learn AWS-specific standardsBe positive and always offer creative, out of the box solutionsQualifications/SkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering or related field5+ years' experience in HVAC, data centre cooling, electronics cooling, or building servicesAbility to research new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data centre equipment and facilitiesAbility to carry new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/constructionThe ability to perform complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and present the justification to management in a high level reviewExperience directly related to data centre or mission critical facility design such as Pharmaceutical, Hospital or Semi-Conductor projects. Understanding of BIM & CFD modellingStrong written and verbal communication skills
