Assistant Manager Job Description We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership & communication abilities to guide their team towards achieving sales & KPI targets whilst providing unparalleled service.
Responsibilities: Supporting the Store Manager in effectively running all store operations to meet or exceed sales & KPI targets.
Setting clear sales goals, tracking performance, and evolving processes for continuous store growth.
Creating a positive team culture through recruiting, training, and developing staff.
Building a motivated, high-performing team to increase store success.
Analyzing sales data and financial reports to make informed decisions alongside the Store Manager, identifying opportunities operationally & commercially.
Acting as the point of contact in the manager's absence.
Providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving complaints professionally.
Managing day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
Supporting cash management tasks such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
Participating in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
Providing feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.
Supporting the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules for proper coverage and productivity.
Role Objectives and KPIs: Contributing to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales target.
Driving additional KPIs including Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT.
Achieving upselling and cross-selling targets.
Maintaining a high Net Promoter Score.
Ensuring stock accuracy during store audits.
Ensuring all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
Meeting or exceeding employee satisfaction and engagement survey benchmarks.
Keeping operational costs within budget.
Skills and Experience: Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail/customer-facing environment.
Passionate about retail with a good understanding of current trends and competitors.
Experience in coaching and developing individuals.
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
Ability to analyze KPI data for commercial decision-making.
Keen eye for detail and commerciality; experience in visual merchandising is advantageous.
Ability to promote JD Group values to stakeholders.
