Arboretum Kilquade is seeking a skilled and motivated Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. Our café is known for wholesome, seasonal menus and exceptional service, and we're looking for someone who shares our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Your Role:
As a Commis Chef, you will play a key role in delivering consistent, high-quality dishes in line with Arboretum's culinary standards. You'll work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service, maintain food safety standards, and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and present a variety of hot and cold dishes to a consistently high standard
* Support daily kitchen operations, including prep, cooking, and service
* Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
* Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas
* Work collaboratively with the wider café team to ensure efficient service
* Contribute to menu development and seasonal offerings when required
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience as a chef or cook in a busy kitchen environment
* A strong understanding of food preparation, safety, and hygiene standards
* A positive attitude and ability to work under pressure
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and public holidays as needed
* A culinary qualification is desirable but not essential
