Role Overview
We are currently recruiting Locum Psychologist to support a 131-bed in-patient mental health service, registered as an approved centre with the Mental Health Commission. Creating a therapeutic environment by using recovery-oriented clinical practices and therapeutic interventions, which are evidence-based to enable and support patients to achieve their highest level of functioning and quality of life. This care is delivered through a Multidisciplinary Team. Supporting people with conditions like dementia, Alzheimer's disease, motor neurone disease, and Parkinson's disease.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions
Deliver individual and/or group therapeutic interventions appropriate to the service setting
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams (MDT) including psychiatry, nursing, social work, and allied health professionals
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in line with service and regulatory standards
Participate in care planning, reviews, and case discussions
Ensure practice is aligned with professional, ethical, and organisational guidelines
Support service users and families through a person-centred, trauma-informed approach
Essential Requirements
Hold a postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical/Counselling Psychology recognized by PSI.
Applicants with qualifications outside of Ireland must have validation from the Department of Health.
A minimum of 1 year post graduate experience.
Experience working within Irish health or social care settings desirable
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
