The Data Center Global Services team is hiring a Controls Engineer for Construction (BMS/EPMS) in EMEA. This role involves managing building automation systems within Amazon data centers. If you are passionate about customer experience, thinking globally, and innovating in building controls and automation, this is your opportunity.
Our Controls Engineers have backgrounds in project/construction management, mechanical, electrical, or technology fields. They handle sophisticated controls platforms, aligning building controls and automation with business goals. Responsibilities include developing new products, supporting existing ones, testing, and evaluating equipment.
Controls Engineers deploy and maintain BMS & EPMS systems across leased and colocation data centers, coordinating with AWS Data Center Engineering Operations teams to implement upgrades and ensure system resiliency.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Understanding customer needs to develop project scope and specifications.
2. Managing work scopes based on site specifics and customer requirements.
3. Interpreting and implementing specifications in the work environment.
4. Developing control panel BOMs.
5. Creating ISA data sheets for various sensors and instrumentation.
6. Designing drawings for control panels, power distribution, and wiring diagrams.
7. Developing logic diagrams for automation systems.
8. Preparing cable routing plans and schedules.
9. Performing inspections, testing, and commissioning of systems.
10. Providing technical support to internal customers.
11. Coordinating project work internally and externally to ensure timely, within-budget completion.
12. Traveling domestically and internationally as needed.
A typical day involves deployment activities, site management, vendor coordination, and ensuring quality and timely delivery, along with collaboration with operations teams.

Minimum qualifications include a B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related fields, experience with BMS/EPMS controls, understanding of electrical and control diagrams, and success in team leadership within construction environments. Additional certifications like PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or vendor-specific certifications are preferred.
