The Southern Regional Assembly wishes to recruit a full-time Projects Officer to support the management and delivery of projects funded through EU Programmes and national sources.
The Post
Duties will include:
1. Liaising with organisations and groups to generate project ideas
2. Working with potential partners to develop high quality project applications
3. Preparing project applications and EU Funding bids
4. Managing the implementation of projects including financial management and reporting
5. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
6. Identifying potential funding streams of regional benefit
7. Undertaking work related travel, as required (both domestic and international)
The Person
Well educated with excellent interpersonal and communications skills and an ability to deal with people across a range of organisations, candidates should possess a good standard of experience in office organisation, financial procedures and staff management. The Projects Officer will also be expected to have a satisfactory knowledge of public service organisation in Ireland and a practical understanding of economic, social and planning issues at national, regional and local level. An awareness of the principles, management, control and reporting requirements of EU Structural Funds is desirable, as is knowledge & experience of project management and financial management.
Qualifications for the post
* Character: Candidates shall be of good character.
* Health: Candidates shall be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
* Education, Training, Experience, etc.: Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms, meet the following:
o (a) have obtained at least Grade D (or a Pass), in Higher or Ordinary Level, in five subjects (or four subjects if Irish is included) from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education Established Leaving Certificate Examination or Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme including Irish and/or English and one of the following: Mathematics, Accounting, Business Organisation or Economics.
o (b) have obtained at least Grade C (or Honours) in higher level (or Honours) papers in three subjects in that examination (or two subjects if Irish and/or one of the following is included: Mathematics, Accounting, Business Organisation or Economics) or hold a comparable standard in an equivalent examination, or hold a third level qualification of at least degree standard.
* Additional Requirements: Possess a full clean Class B driving licence and have access to own vehicle.
* Age: Must be under 65 years of age on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms, unless deemed a new entrant to the Public Service as defined by the Public Service Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2004.
