Overview
This new role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Psychology Dept in the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital (MMUH) and join a HSCP team supporting adolescent patients with scoliosis to cope with their journey through surgery. The psychologist will join other new MDT & HSCP staff as part of this development to support this patient group using evidence based psychological treatment as per best practice guidelines. The role includes coordinating assessment, formulation and interventions at both inpatient and outpatient levels, as well as developing the psychology service in line with dept plans. The Psychologist will work in an interdisciplinary way to best meet the needs of the patients and the service. The post-holder will sit in the Dept. of Psychology which is in the Health and Social Care Directorate within the hospital and will report to the Principal Psychologist, Head of Dept. The psychologist will also be responsible to the MDT service within which they will be based.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate assessment, formulation and interventions at inpatient and outpatient levels for adolescent scoliosis patients.
* Develop the psychology service in line with departmental plans.
* Collaborate in an interdisciplinary MDT/HSCP to meet patient and service needs.
* Work within evidence-based psychological treatment guidelines and best practice standards.
* Report to the Principal Psychologist / Head of Department and align with department structures.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience or training in clinical psychology or relevant field (as per job posting).
* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to work confidentially and ethically (confidentiality).
