Overview
Healthcare Assistant (Personal Assistant) required to join Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) in Kilkenny, serving Castlecomer and surrounding areas. Fixed-term, part-time role (10-15 hours per week) with potential for relief and more hours to build your roster. Availability of morning, afternoon and evening shifts is required.
Responsibilities
* Enable Members to achieve maximum independence in daily living by providing assistance in personal care, domestic tasks, social and educational support, travel and companionship.
* Carrying out duties in Members’ homes and communities.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Minimum of 5 modules completed of the Major Award at QQI Level 5 in Community Health Services, Health Service Skills or Healthcare Support or other relevant qualification.
* Experience of working with people in a caring role (essential).
* Reliable, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality.
* Excellent communication skills with a good level of spoken and written English.
* Access to your own car (essential).

Salary and Benefits
* Salary range: €15.39 – €17.12 per hour, depending on experience
* Before 8am and after 8pm: from €19.23 p/h
* Sunday: from €23.00 p/h
* Public Holidays: from €30.80 p/h
* Pay increases: 9.25% over next 2 years (2025 to Oct 2026) per WRC agreement for Section 39 organisations
* Paid inter-client mileage; Sick pay; Maternity and paternity pay; Holiday pay at 8% of hours worked
