Overview

BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND - SOUTHERN REGION

The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is a major voluntary organisation, which provides age related residential, educational and day services for adults with intellectual disabilities, autism and communication disorders throughout the Cork area. Children and young adults across Cork and Kerry with Intellectual, Physical, Sensory disability, children on the Autistic Spectrum and children at risk of or query developmental delay; where their needs require the support of an interdisciplinary team.


Job Summary

These posts are part of Children\'s Disability Networks 7 East Cork City (Carrigtwohill) and Network 13 (Carrigaline/Kinsale/Bandon) with bases in Carrigaline and Bandon, Co. Cork. The post holders will be working as part of an interdisciplinary team providing supports to children and young people, aged 0-18 years, and their families. The CNDT aims to maximise the child/young adult\'s full potential and works within the context of the family and community, empowering and supporting parents/caregivers and family members. Assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions are provided in the context of an interdisciplinary team under the national model of service provision "Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People" led by the HSE. The successful candidate will be employed by the Brothers of Charity Services Ireland.


Responsibilities

* Assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions are provided in the context of an interdisciplinary team.
* Support to children and young people, 0-18 years, and their families as part of the CNDT.


Qualifications

* Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc
* Candidates must have professional qualification as per the Department of Health guidelines See job description for full criteria.
* Have a university degree or diploma (QQI Level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject, AND
* Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology OR
* An equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health. AND
* Applicants must have at least five years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology, no more than three years of which was spent in gaining the post-graduate professional qualification and no less than two years full-time spent in post-qualification experience as a professional psychologist. Years in excess of the permitted three years for completion of the post-graduate training or time not worked will not be taken into consideration when assessing the five years\' experience requirement.
* Driving Licence
* Must have a full driving license and means of transport which qualifies you to drive on Irish roads.
* Age
* The Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act, 2018* set 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public servants. * Public Servants not affected by this legislation: Public servants recruited between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012 (new entrants) have no compulsory retirement age. Public servants recruited since 1 January 2013 are members of the Single Pension Scheme and have a compulsory retirement age of 70.
* Health
* Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service
* Character
* Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.


Salary

Salary Scale: €98,503 - €158,784 including 2 LSI\'s (DOH Consolidated Scales 1/3/25) per annum and pro-rata for part-time role

* Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of starting date. Failure to do so will mean that any incremental credit due now will only be paid from date of submission of documents.

Reporting to: Children Disability Network Manager(s). The Head of Discipline will provide clinical supervision.
