Job Role Overview
The role of Clerk of Works involves overseeing the construction process to ensure quality workmanship, adherence to project specifications, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
This position requires monitoring the daily progress of a cycle scheme, inspecting materials and workmanship, and resolving any on-site issues through effective communication with contractors and project stakeholders.
* Quality Control: Monitor the day-to-day progress of the cycle scheme, ensuring compliance with design specifications and standards.
* Workmanship Inspection: Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure they meet required quality and safety standards.
* Issue Resolution: Liaise with contractors, project managers, and design teams to resolve any on-site issues.
* Health and Safety: Ensure health and safety regulations are followed on site.
* Reporting: Prepare regular reports, documenting the progress of the project, quality control checks, and any issues or deviations from the plan.
Key Requirements
* Experience in a similar role within civil engineering, preferably on transport or cycle infrastructure projects.
* Strong understanding of construction processes, health and safety, and quality assurance.
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve issues on-site.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors and project stakeholders.
* Knowledge of relevant building standards and regulations.
