About the Job
The IT Team Lead is responsible for leading, managing, and governing global IT infrastructure teams without direct hands-on technical execution. This role focuses on operational oversight, technical leadership, process standardization, risk management, and stakeholder coordination to ensure high availability, security, and scalability of server and network infrastructure. The IT Team Lead acts as the primary escalation point, drives continuous improvement, and ensures 24×7 operational readiness across global environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage global IT infrastructure operations teams supporting server, network, and data centre environments in a 24×7 model.
Provide technical leadership and decision-making oversight for enterprise server platforms
(including Dell PowerEdge) and network infrastructure.
Define, approve, and govern standardised processes for firmware, BIOS, OS, IOS/NX-OS updates and lifecycle management.
Act as the senior escalation point for major incidents, driving resolution, coordination, and
communication with stakeholders.
Oversee hardware break/fix operations, vendor management, warranty claims, and spares strategy.
Plan and govern hardware refresh and End-of-Life (EOL) migration programs to ensure service continuity.
Ensure proactive infrastructure health management through audits, capacity planning, and risk assessments.
Partner with SRE teams to implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and reliability improvements.
Lead blameless post-incident reviews and ensure corrective and preventive actions are
implemented.
Govern large-scale server and network installation activities executed by installation teams.
Ensure compliance with security hardening standards, change management, and documentation requirements.
Drive automation, documentation quality, and CMDB accuracy across infrastructure domains.
Mentor, coach, and performance-manage team members, ensuring skill development and
operational maturity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Network, SRE, Physical Security, and Program Management.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure operations, with significant
exposure to people and operations leadership roles.
Proven experience leading large, globally distributed infrastructure teams in a 24×7
support environment.
Strong conceptual and architectural understanding of enterprise servers, storage, and
networking (including **Cisco-based environments).
Hands-off leadership experience with strong ability to guide, review, and govern
technical work executed by teams.
Solid understanding of ITIL-based operations, incident management, problem
management, and change governance.
Experience managing vendor relationships, SLAs, hardware lifecycle, and
infrastructure refresh programs
Ability to engage with senior stakeholders, communicate risks, and drive consensus
on technical decisions.
Strong documentation, process improvement, and operational excellence mindset.
