We look forward to receiving your application.PartnerRe is an equal opportunities employer.Please join our company LinkedIn Page for all updates on new positions that are coming live.Job DescriptionJob Summary:The Data Platform Operations Engineer ensures the stable and efficient operation of PartnerRe's enterprise data delivery platform, covering Data Virtuality, StreamSets, Snowflake, and BusinessObjects (BO) environments. The role focuses on maintaining operational health, resolving incidents, optimizing performance, and executing controlled changes to support the timely delivery of high-quality data across Underwriting, Finance, and Risk. This position requires strong technical ownership across multiple systems, the ability to identify and correct inefficient code or processes, and collaboration with the Data Engineering, Platform, and BI teams to ensure platform reliability, performance, and compliance.About The RoleMonitor and maintain daily operations of Data Virtuality, StreamSets, Snowflake, and BO servers to ensure end-to-end data delivery and SLA compliance.Troubleshoot, resolve, and document incidents and performance issues across environments (TEST, PREPROD, PROD).Administer Data Virtuality connectors, jobs, and schedules; validate SQL logic and optimize code efficiency.Support and optimize StreamSets pipelines and BO server operations to maintain consistent data access for users.Perform root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and execute changes under established Change Management procedures (Cherwell CRs, CAB approvals).Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and topology diagrams to meet internal audit and compliance requirements.Contribute to continuous improvement through code reviews, automation, and capacity/performance tuning.QualificationsTechnical SkillsStrong Linux operating system skills.Experience with Docker or similar containerization platforms (e.g., OpenShift).Understanding of maintaining Java EE applications on WildFly.Familiarity with Data Virtuality, StreamSets, Snowflake, SQL Server, and Azure Blob Storage.Strong SQL knowledge for troubleshooting and validation.Exposure ETL/ELT concepts, scheduling, and orchestration.Experience with Cherwell, Prometheus, or similar monitoring tools.Knowledge of ITIL-based Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.Kubernetes experience is advantageous but not required.Soft Skills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a structured approach.High attention to detail and disciplined documentation habits.Effective communicator across technical and business teams.Proactive, service-oriented mindset with strong ownership and reliability.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).8+ years of experience in data platform operations, data engineering, or related support functions.Additional Information:PartnerRe provides a working environment in which diversity is valued, where all employees feel welcome, respected, and empowered to perform at their best.
