Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Commis de Rang/Waiter to join our Michelin Star Restaurant the Bishop's Buttery at Cashel Palace Hotel.
As a vital member of our front-of-house team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the dining room, ensuring cleanliness and proper setup
Support the Chef de Rang in serving dishes and communicating between the dining room and kitchen
Contribute to the smooth running of service by anticipating guest needs and responding promptly
Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and wine selections
Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and presentation in all aspects of work
Participate in pre-service briefings and ongoing training sessions
Assist in stock management and inventory tasks as required
Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a fine dining or Michelin-starred establishment
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering impeccable service
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
Genuine passion for the hospitality industry and a customer-focused mindset
Excellent communication skills with fluency in English; additional languages are advantageous
In-depth knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine service
Understanding of fine dining etiquette and protocols
Basic wine knowledge and eagerness to expand expertise
Physical stamina to work long hours on your feet
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
Positive attitude and willingness to continuously learn and improve
