Orange Recruitment are currently looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Maintenance Technician to join our clients team in a hands-on role supporting day-to-day operations and plant reliability. This position involves a mix of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and support during planned shutdowns. It's ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background and experience working in an industrial or power plant setting. Responsibilities: Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment in a safe and efficient manner Perform alignment, balancing, levelling, and adjustments on pumps, fans, and other rotating machinery, either independently or under the guidance of the Lead Mechanic Carry out welding repairs, including pipework and steel installations, as needed Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and ensure equipment reliability Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical faults, working through to resolution and recording findings Assist in the training of junior staff in mechanical and electrical systems, supporting knowledge sharing within the team Take an active role in plant shutdowns, including teardown, inspection, and reassembly of equipment across systems Be available for callouts and overtime in response to plant requirements Support other departments such as warehouse and operations when required to ensure smooth plant operations Maintain a clean and safe work environment, participating in general housekeeping across the plant and workshop areas Adhere to all company safety procedures and contribute to ongoing site safety and quality initiatives Work towards qualification as a Lead Mechanic through demonstrated performance and commitment Take on additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager Requirements: At least 3 years' experience working in a power generation or industrial plant environment Hands-on experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems Confidence in using a variety of hand and power tools, with a working knowledge of safety procedures Ability to interpret technical instructions and work independently or as part of a team Willingness to work on a rotating call-out basis and adapt to overtime needs
