The Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant / Financial Controller to take overall responsibility for the charity’s finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and full compliance with regulatory and funder requirements. Reporting to the CEO, this is a senior role working closely with senior management, the Board, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Overall management of the finance function, including preparation of monthly management accounts, annual statutory accounts and compliance reporting
Development and maintenance of strong internal financial controls and procedures as well as updating of finance systems, processes and reporting
Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management to support sustainable service delivery
Supporting senior management and the Board with financial analysis, reporting and decision‑making
Liaising with auditors, funders and regulatory bodies as required
Oversight of payroll, VAT and other relevant tax and statutory compliance matters
Candidate Profile
Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
High level of integrity and attention to detail
Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
Experience in the charity or voluntary sector a plus but not essential
