We strive to produce high quality and timeless bespoke joinery by developing our customer's vision through adaptive design.
The suitable candidate will be joining our enthusiastic and hard-working team, based in the beautiful and vibrant town of Kenmare, with an option for a hybrid role following a period of training at our offices.The ideal candidate will translate architectural drawings and client specifications into practical, build-ready designs using CAD/CAM software, specifically SolidWorks with Swood plugin.
You will play a critical role in the production process by creating detailed working drawings and CNC machine files coordinating with the manufacturing team and ensuring compliance with building regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesInterpret and document design specifications, instructions, and meeting outcomes with the Project Manager.Translate architectural drawings into practical, buildable joinery designs that meet client requirements and building regulations.
Create 3D models and 2D technical drawings using Swood for SolidWorks.
Prepare and issue working drawings with automatically produced CAM files for the manufacturing team.Liaise with workshop/manufacturing staff during handover to ensure accurate translation of designs into production.Revise designs and drawings in response to client, architect, or production feedback.Address limitations of materials, technologies, and joinery techniques during the design process.Stay current with developments in CAD software, woodworking techniques, and material technologies.Select appropriate materials using available databases and knowledge of their properties and performanceRequirementsQualifications for CAD DesignerDegree in related field (preferred)Bachelor's or Certifications (preferred)Carpentry Experience/ Woodwork experience (Preferred)Minimum 5 years working in a professional environment2+ years experience utilizing 3D CAD software (preferred)Excellent attention to detailFlexibility and ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a teamExcellent communication and organisation skillsVery good IT skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook etc.Be fluent in English both verbal and writtenAbility to think in a three-dimensional mannerYou should be able to:Use Swoodreview designs,make corrections and recommendationsbe able to maintain a record of all designs in the database.BenefitsWhat We OfferA collaborative and supportive working environment.Opportunities for professional development and training.Involvement in bespoke and high-quality carpentry and joinery projects.Competitive salary based on experience Assistance with relocation to our beautiful town of Kenmare can be provided.
