About SocialTies
SocialTies is a community-first digital platform built in Ireland for sports organisations, community groups, and governing bodies.
We give communities a fully branded digital home where communication, content, education, and events live in one place. Through a shared advertising model, 50% of all advertising revenue is reinvested directly back into the community—reducing reliance on constant fundraising and helping volunteer-led organisations become more sustainable.
We exist to build communities, not followers; to strengthen real-world relationships through technology; and to empower grassroots sport with tools designed for how communities actually operate.
Our brand is warm, media-led, and rooted in real stories. We avoid political commentary, hype, and aggressive competitor positioning. Everything we do starts with community.
The Role
We are hiring a
Content & Community Lead
to help define and deliver SocialTies' voice in the world.
This is an early-stage, hands-on role for someone who loves creating content, understands grassroots sport, and wants to be close to communities. You will personally produce the majority of SocialTies' content while also helping local organisations succeed on the platform.
This is not a senior leadership role on day one. However, for the right person, there is a clear path to
Senior Content Manager / Head of Content
within 12–18 months as the company scales.
You will be on camera. Over time, you will become a recognisable face of SocialTies across social channels and within the communities we serve.
What You Will Do
Content Creation (Primary Focus)
* Create high-quality, original content across SocialTies' channels, with Instagram as the priority platform
* Produce matchday, event, and community-led content on location
* Lead interviews, features, and on-camera storytelling with clubs, volunteers, and partners
* Support podcast production, distribution, and promotion
* Create educational and explainer content that clearly communicates how SocialTies works and why it matters
* Identify what performs well, double down on strong formats, and evolve content over time
Channels include:
* Instagram
* LinkedIn
* X / Twitter
* TikTok
* Podcasts
* In-app SocialTies content
Community Support & Enablement
* Support 20–30 communities over the next 12 months
* Create content templates, playbooks, and practical guides for community managers
* Train and onboard community volunteers and admins on content best practices
* Help communities plan matchday activations, interviews, and storytelling formats
* Troubleshoot underperforming content and provide clear, constructive guidance
* Occasionally post directly into community feeds when required
A strong understanding of GAA culture, grassroots sport, and volunteer-led organisations is essential.
Strategy & Collaboration
Work closely with the Head of Marketing on content strategy for:
* SocialTies as a company
* Individual SocialTies communities
* Contribute to editorial calendars and campaign planning
* Provide input on KPIs and performance insights
Role Balance
Approximate time split:
* 70% hands-on content creation
* 20% community support, training, and enablement
* 10% strategy and planning
Who This Role Is For
We are open on years of experience. What matters most is proof of strong content output and an authentic connection to community sport.
This role may suit someone from:
* Journalism or media
* Agency or in-house brand teams
* The creator economy
* Sport or community-focused organisations
Experience building channels from scratch is a plus, but not required.
You are likely someone who:
* Is proactive, curious, and comfortable working in a startup environment
* Can move quickly without losing quality or care
* Is confident on camera and enjoys telling other people's stories
* Understands the realities of grassroots sport and volunteer time constraints
* Puts community ahead of ego
