Food Safety & Quality Technical Specialist
Please note the shift for this role is currently 2pm - *****pm
What You'll be doing:
Support the implementation and maintenance of the site's Food Safety & Quality Management systems and all associated procedures, policies, and records.
Ensure products produced meet specification through internal monitoring procedures and product assessments.
Responsibility for product specifications – raw material, finished product (including nutritional information) and process (QAS).
Ensure the Product Quality Inspection points are optimised to improve product quality awareness and maintain a consistent product quality approach.
Responsible for following key activities including but not limited to:
Daily, weekly, monthly QC checks as per TS activity plan to maintain site & product FS&Q standards.
HACCP/CCP verification checks.
Product inspection – raw material, in process and finished product.
Cleaning verification checks and environmental hygiene monitoring.
Ensuring product testing schedule is adhered to and results are trending.
Supplier approval.
Product validations.
Equipment calibration.
Micro sampling.
Internal audits e.g., hygiene and glass audits.
Coordinate customer complaints investigation, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including the consumer, to close out successfully.
Non-conformance reporting and corrective action implementation.
Review and maintain quality documents.
Ensure full product traceability at all stages.
Attend all meetings as requested by direct report and contribute positively.
Complete project work directed by the Food Safety and Quality Team to improve initiatives within the business.
Ensure compliance with ISO and FSSC ***** standards and customer standards.
What we are looking for:
Science/Food Science qualification essential – diploma level at a minimum.
Minimum 1 year QA/QC experience in a food manufacturing environment desirable.
Flexibility, quick learner, problem solver, good communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High attention to detail, problem solver and strong communication skills.
