Financial Crime Associate Director Job
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Crime Compliance Associate Director to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the financial crime function, overseeing the financial crime risk framework, and providing advice and assistance to business partners.
About the Role
* Manage the day-to-day operation of the financial crime function, including the support team
* Oversee the financial crime risk framework, including policies and procedures, and related compliance activities for all Group companies
* Provide advice and assistance to business partners on financial crime risk exposure and regulatory requirements
* Advise senior management and the Board(s) on financial crime risk exposure
* Prepare and present reports for Directors and the CCO/MLRO on financial crime compliance on a regular basis
* Collaborate and liaise with regulatory authorities and other external parties as well as with internal stakeholders as relevant
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain, update, and oversee an effective financial crime compliance monitoring program
2. Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations and provide guidance to Group companies in relation to implementation
3. Provide guidance on day-to-day financial crime matters affecting the business based on regulatory compliance requirements and industry best practice
4. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate financial crime risks
5. Implement effective controls to manage identified risks
6. Oversee investigations into suspected financial crimes and manage incidents and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A relevant 3rd level degree (Business, Finance, Law or equivalent) and/or a compliance qualification
* 10+ years working in a regulated environment with a financial crime focus
* A proven ability to act as a functional SME with the capability to challenge interpretation, coordinate responses where required, and prepare insightful briefings for leadership
* An analytical approach and attention to detail with good organizational skills
* The ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team
* Strong communication skills, including the ability to concisely articulate alternative views under pressure
