This is a hands-on, operationally focused role with full responsibility for the day-to-day management, compliance, and cost control of a commercial vehicle fleet operating to RSA standards.The RoleReporting into senior operations leadership, the Fleet Manager will take ownership of fleet maintenance, regulatory compliance, driver liaison, and supplier management. The role is highly transport-focused and requires daily engagement with drivers, depots, and external service providers to ensure maximum fleet availability and safety.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure all fleet vehicles are properly maintained and roadworthy at all timesArrange and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs, liaising daily with garages and service providersEnsure all drivers have the correct, valid, and up-to-date documentation onboard their vehiclesMaintain accurate fleet records, compliance documentation, and management reportsEnsure all vehicles have valid CVRT, ADR, pressure testing, and Safe Load Pass certification in line with RSA standardsBuild and maintain strong working relationships with drivers, depots, garages, and body buildersMonitor and control transportation and fleet-related costs, identifying efficiencies where possibleEnsure all vehicle damage is reported promptly and that repairs are completed within agreed timelinesAct as the main point of contact for day-to-day transport queries from drivers and depotsIssue order numbers and review, approve, and sign off on all invoices relating to fleet maintenance and repairsLiaise with garages and body builders on new vehicle builds, specifications, and commissioningServe as the primary escalation point for any transport or fleet-related issues across the businessCandidate ProfileProven experience in a Fleet Manager, Transport Manager, or Fleet Administrator role within a commercial transport environmentStrong working knowledge of RSA compliance, CVRT, ADR, and vehicle testing requirementsExperience managing external suppliers, garages, and service partnersStrong organisational and record-keeping skills with a high level of attention to detailExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with drivers and depot teamsCost-conscious mindset with experience monitoring and controlling fleet expenditureProactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
