Enhance the quality of life for our residents by planning and delivering a variety of stimulating recreational activities as an Activities Coordinator. We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated team at our nursing home in Roscommon.

* Develop and implement a weekly and monthly schedule of social, recreational, and therapeutic activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
* Engage residents in individual and group activities such as music sessions, arts and crafts, exercise classes, gardening, reminiscence therapy, games, and outings.
* Collaborate with residents, families, and care staff to assess needs, preferences, and participation levels.
* Maintain records of activity attendance and resident engagement to support person-centred care planning.
* Foster a warm, inclusive, and stimulating environment that promotes wellbeing, dignity, and social interaction.
* Organise seasonal celebrations, cultural events, and community visits where appropriate.
* Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and health and safety policies during all activities.
* Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuous professional development opportunities.
Key requirements include previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a residential or healthcare setting, a relevant qualification in social care, community development, or related field, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently, creativity, patience, and a genuine interest in enhancing the lives of older people. Garda Vetting and suitable references are required.
