Role Overview
This specialist nursing role is designed to provide high-quality, evidence-based care and support to children and young people (0–18 years) with complex needs within an interdisciplinary framework. The successful candidate will also support other staff and students as assigned.
Main Responsibilities
* Deliver a high-standard service to children and families.
* Provide specialist nursing interventions for children and young people enrolled in the service.
* Manage and prioritise case loads individually and as part of the team.
* Assess care needs and develop tailored nursing care pathways.
* Work collaboratively as part of a team, liaising with other disciplines and fostering good working relationships and practices.
* Stay up-to-date with developments in assessments and interventions for children and young people with complex needs.
Working Relationships
Work within the West Cork Children's Disability Network Team.
Liaise and establish relations with other agencies and services.
Essential Criteria
* A recognised validated university degree or equivalent qualification in nursing – RNID and/or RCN.
* Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience.
* Minimum 3 years working at senior level or in a supervisory capacity.
* Minimum 3 years' experience working with children with disabilities, including physical disability, autism, and learning disability, and their families.
* Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Eligibility to work in the state.
