About the Role
We are looking for a confident, fun, and proactive person from Laois with a full driving licence and access to their own car to support a young man with additional needs to live a full and meaningful life.
This role goes beyond day-to-day support — it's about thinking outside the box, breaking down barriers, and putting creative plans into action that build confidence, independence, and community participation.
Key Responsibilities
* Work alongside the young man and his family to design and coordinate activities that match his interests (e.g., computing, music, sport, social outings).
* Explore and develop new opportunities in education, training, volunteering, and community life.
* Help to plan weekly routines, breaking down big goals into achievable steps.
* Provide encouragement, guidance, and support during activities.
* Network with local services, clubs, and organisations to create inclusive opportunities.
* Multitask and stay organised while keeping things fun, positive, and engaging.
* Keep communication open with family members to ensure consistency and safety.

* Must be based in Laois (Portlaoise or surrounding area).
* Full driving licence and access to own car are essential.

* Location: Family home in Laois (with travel in local community).

* Pay: [18-25 EURO PER HOUR].
* Training and guidance will be provided.
