What is the opportunity?As a high-performing Internal Audit team, GIA provide independent, challenging and risk focused assurance, insight and opinion to the Group and support the Group in achieving its strategic objectivesThis is a key and important role in the Group Internal Audit Team. The role holder will act as the lead expert in this area and will be responsible for overseeing assurance coverage and assessing change risk across Agile delivery within Bank of Ireland. This is a visible and impactful position within GIA and the Group. Reporting to the Head of Audit for Technology, Data & Change you will develop a broad range of relationships with key partners across the organisation.In this role, you will:Lead the delivery of technology related audit activity from scoping through to reportingProvide support and expertise in this area across GIA - provide guidance and supporting development of othersEvaluate internal controls and processes through the planning, execution and reporting of audit engagements.Report on the status of audit engagements to the Heads of Audit.Manage stakeholder engagement with auditees throughout the audit engagement, including regular updates and agreement of audit issues and final report.Support in the development of the annual assurance plan and opinion.Support and coach new and more junior members of the team in audit methodology and use of Audit Board.Ensure audits are delivered in line with GIA methodologyWhat will make you stand out?Extensive subject matter experience in Technology audit.Relevant qualifications in this area e.g., CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, ISO 27000Experience in Internal Audit in an FS environment, with strong knowledge and experience working in the context of a large complex organisation, developing strong interpersonal relationships and leading through influence are keys to success.Advanced reporting writing skills, critical thinking skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a simple manner that generates practical insights for Executive and Board audiences.Highly adept in navigating governance processes and working cross-functionally with a broad group of partners to achieve an outcome.Commercially savvy with a strong knowledge and understanding of Bank of Ireland.Strong people manager skills & experience building high performing teams.Extensive subject matter expertise in Technology / Technology AuditRelevant experience in Internal Audit or Risk and in operating in an environment with significant regulatory or compliance requirements e.g. Financial Services etc.Relevant experience in business and industry knowledge in the key subject areaMethodology & Analytical Skills - Solid understanding of internal control concepts with the ability to evaluate and determine the adequacy of controls by considering business objectives and risks in an integrated manner.Excellent written and oral communication skills, and attention to detail.Track record that demonstrates sound judgement, drive, agility and resilienceStrategic mentality with an ability to understand and communicate technical issues in a business contextKnowledge and experience in the auditing the following areas, would also be advantageous:Data Management (e.g., governance, data warehousing, BCBS 239, lineage etc)Cybersecurity and data protectionITCloudTransaction processing and financial services payments requirementsProgramme Risk / ChangePrivacyTPRMMore about the team:GIA forms the 3rd line of defence for the Bank of Ireland Group. GIA's purpose is 'to Help Make Bank of Ireland Better', including providing independent assurance to key partners on the effectiveness of the Group's risk management and internal control frameworks. To fulfil this purpose, GIA carries out risk based assignments, covering Group businesses and functions. We provide additional insight through its attendance at key governance fora and committees across the Group. Key stakeholders include the Board, the Group Audit Committee, key subsidiaries' audit and risk committees and senior management, as well as other key parties, including the Group's regulators and external auditors. GIA's findings are communicated to senior management and other key partners, with remediation plans monitored for progress against agreed completion dates. We have a Group-wide remit and, as a result, have a deep insight into all of the Group's activities and access to the most senior levels within the Group.This is a hybrid role based in Baggot Plaza, Dublin 4. We typically ask colleagues to spend a minimum of 8 days per month working in-person to support teamwork and collaboration.
