This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced operational environment, supporting high-volume import and export activities while ensuring full regulatory compliance.This role is full time on site initially with an opportunity for hybrid working on completion of the probationary period.The RoleReporting to the Customs Manager, the Customs Officer will be responsible for delivering an efficient and compliant customs clearance service, working closely with internal operations teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless customs processing.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide an efficient and effective customs clearance service in line with Revenue and company compliance standardsEnsure all customs declarations and data submissions are accurate, complete, and compliantProduce customer metrics and reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basisMaintain accurate and comprehensive records of all customs-related transactionsCommunicate daily with operations teams to support end-to-end clearance processesLiaise with internal and external customers to resolve customs-related queries in a timely mannerCreate and discharge T1 documents as requiredSupport business development initiatives and undertake additional duties as directed by the Customs ManagerSkills & Experience RequiredMinimum 3 years' experience in a Customs Officer, Import/Export, or similar roleStrong experience in import and export customs clearancesProven experience creating and discharging T1 documentsStrong knowledge of commodity classificationMinimum 2 years' experience using Thyme IT softwareExperience with Customforce / Customware systems (desirable)Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressureStrong PC literacy and administrative skillsPersonal AttributesSelf-motivated and proactive with strong attention to detailConfident, professional, and customer-focusedPositive, flexible, and adaptableExcellent communication and time management skills
