Investment Accounting is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the accounting results in the investment sub-ledgers across multiple bases (US GAAP & US insurance statutory), the reconciliation of accounting books and records to the sub-ledgers, all external reporting related to invested assets and implementation of accounting for new/complex investment transactions.About The RoleLead the teams responsible for accounting processes related to the monthly and quarterly accounting close to ensure accuracy of Corebridge’s reporting on loan assets (commercial mortgages, residential mortgages, collateral/mezzanine loans).Lead onshore and offshore teams responsible for the reconciliation of loan assets between ledger and subledger under US GAAP and US insurance statutory rules for Corebridge’s subsidiaries.Ensure accuracy of accounting results by reviewing the quality of the invested assets data in the systems before and after the month-end close and by working with the subledger vendors, external asset managers, loan servicers and internal front office / operations teams to address inaccuracies/deficiencies.Manage preparation and review of quarterly and annual investments-related NAIC/STAT reporting exhibits, schedules, and disclosures.Lead new initiatives for process improvements, in coordination with other areas of the department/organization.Serve as a point of contact and support for the business unit/line controllers and CFO’s.Coordinate with various areas in the organization to develop an understanding of new investment transactions and to provide guidance/support that ensures accurate accounting treatment across multiple bases (GAAP and insurance statutory).Prepare analytics to Corebridge’s senior management and business unit/line controllers and CFOs.Primary liaison and the team’s point of contact for internal and external financial audit reviews.Promote and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment within the team and with the external business partners.Skills And QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or finance.5+ years of experience in accounting and reporting for investments, with concentration in mortgage loan assets.Knowledge of mortgage loan investments. Understanding of investment and finance operations.Experience with technical aspects and operational application of US GAAP accounting pronouncements, and insurance statutory reporting requirements for invested assets.Familiarity with investment accounting subledger systems for mortgage loans.Experience with SAP General Ledger environment, or similar.Experience with leading large teams and building cross-functional relationships withing a complex organization.Ability to balance multiple projects at the same time, to prioritize appropriately, and to approach the work with a sense of urgency and strong attention to detail to produce high quality results in a time-sensitive environment.Process-oriented/control-oriented mindset, ability to drive improvements and the implementation of accounting controls to ensure consistency and data quality of the team’s financial output.High level of motivation and initiative, ability to work independently, including strong organizational and management skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels within the organization.Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with staff, peers, and other external and internal audiences.CompensationCorebridge also offers a range of competitive benefits as part of the total compensation package, as detailed below.Work Location:This position is based in Corebridge Financials’ Dublin, Ireland office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.This role is deemed a “covered associate” under SEC Rule 206(4)-5, 17 CFR275.206(4)-5, Political contributions by certain investment advisers, and other federal and state pay-to-play rules.
