Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) / Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner (cANP)
Medical Oncology SACT Service at St. Vincent's University Hospital
The role of the Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) is to provide safe, timely and evidence-based nurse-led care to patients at an advanced nursing level.
* Independently manage patients to remove them from waiting lists and prevent admissions.
* Promote preventative strategies in accordance with agreed protocols and scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertake and document a complete episode of patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, treatment and discharge, according to collaboratively agreed protocols and scope of practice.
2. Demonstrate advanced clinical and theoretical knowledge, critical thinking, clinical leadership and decision-making skills.
3. Apply a high degree of core Acute Haematology and Oncology Management knowledge, skill and experience within the nurse-patient/client relationship to achieve optimal outcomes through critical analysis, problem solving and accurate decision-making.
