Accounts Assistant / Part Qualified Accountant Location: Limerick Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent Sector: Accountancy Practice About the Role A well-established accountancy practice in Limerick is seeking to recruit a Bookkeeper / Part Qualified Accountant to join its growing team.
The firm provides accounting, bookkeeping and taxation services to a diverse portfolio of SMEs, sole traders and owner-managed businesses.
This role would suit a candidate who is developing their career in practice and looking to gain broad exposure to client accounting work in a supportive environment.
Suitable candidates must hold a full drivers license and have means of transport as this is an onsite role.
Key Responsibilities Maintain bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients Process purchase invoices, sales invoices and bank reconciliations Prepare and submit VAT returns via ROS Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders and small companies Assist with payroll processing and PAYE submissions Maintain accurate financial records and working papers Liaise with clients to obtain records and resolve queries Assist senior staff with accounts and tax assignments General administrative support where required Requirements Essential Minimum 2 years experience in an Irish bookkeeping or accountancy practice Currently studying or part-qualified (ACCA / ACA / CPA / ATI or equivalent) Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) Familiarity with VAT and basic payroll processes Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Good communication and client interaction skills Experience preparing accounts to trial balance Familiarity with Revenue Online Service (ROS) What the Role Offers Supportive small practice environment Exposure to a wide variety of SME clients Study support available Competitive salary depending on experience Opportunity for professional development and progression Flexibility Contact Reach out to David Smyth with your CV to
