About the Role
The Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for evaluating and enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of organizational procedures and processes. This role involves conducting chemical, microbiological, packaging, and sensory analyses throughout the production process, from crushing to finished product.
Key Accountabilities
1. Quality Assurance:
o Achieve site quality KPIs
o Perform chemical, microbiological, packaging, and sensory analyses
o Analyze data to identify issues, develop improvement plans, and interpret test results
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements
o Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure quality standards are met
o Investigate complaints, analyze, and report findings
o Manage Certificates of Analysis (COA) and Certificates of Conformance (COC)
o Compile, trend, and analyze quality reports from crushing to packaging
o Report and document quality activities
o Investigate and follow up on supplier non-conformances
o Identify root causes of internal non-conformances and ensure closure
o Create and deliver quality training to staff
2. Compliance and Safety:
o Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines
o Promote a safety-first environment, ensuring staff well-being and adherence to safety protocols
o Conduct safety audits and risk assessments, presenting findings and recommendations
3. Project Management:
o Manage and design projects, prioritizing tasks and resources
o Lead project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
o Implement industry best practices to meet project goals

About You
* Degree in a relevant discipline (desirable)
* Level 2 HACCP or equivalent
* Understanding of fast-paced manufacturing processes
* Strong analytical skills to identify patterns and trends
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis software
* Knowledge of quality improvement best practices
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
* Effective change management and communication skills
* Ability to influence at all levels
