Our client are a leading specialist within the construction sector who have restructured their finance team and are seeking to appoint a management accountant to join their team.
This role will manage the finances for a number of entities, this involves the oversight of transactional work, hands on financial reporting and analysis.
As the business continues to expand there is an opportunity to progress to Financial Controller.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will collaborate closely with a professional and supportive finance team located throughout Ireland and the UK.
This is a permanent, full-time role, with hybrid working available following the initial training period.
Role Responsibilities: Producing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts Consolidating group results and delivering variance analysis compared to budgets and forecasts.
Assisting with group budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
Creating, monitoring, and reporting on KPIs across the organisation.
Working closely with managers and department leaders to provide financial insight and support strategic decisions.
Ensuring adherence to accounting standards, tax rules, and statutory obligations.
Managing AP/AR functions, payroll journals, reconciliations, and the month-end process.
Presenting financial performance and insights to senior management in a clear and practical manner.
Identifying opportunities to enhance systems, reporting, and internal processes.
Strengthening internal controls and contributing to group risk management.
Coordinating with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
Guiding junior finance team members and collaborating with outsourced service providers where required.
Candidate Requirements: Qualified Accountant or finalist with a recognised professional body 2+ years experience in a comparable role, ideally within a group or multi-entity setting.
Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and Irish tax requirements.
Experience with accounting software along with strong Excel capability.
Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Confident communication abilities, including presenting financial information to non-finance audiences.
A demonstrated ability to enhance reporting, systems, and processes.
Experience supporting or mentoring junior finance staff is beneficial.
