Contract Type:

The role of the Clinical Nurse Manager shall be to support the Person In Charge / Unit manager in the clinical and professional leadership of the care team and to deliver direct resident care.
Location:
* Altadore Retirement Nursing Home, Glenageary, Co. Dublin
The Clinical Nurse Manager will:
* Provide mentorship and preceptorship for Nursing colleagues as appropriate.
* Maintain clinical competence in the management of people with dementia, keeping up-to-date with relevant research to ensure the implementation of evidence based practice.
* Responsible to meet the aims of dementia/cognitive impairment care within the residential home. Ensure that all interventions in response to non-cognitive symptoms of dementia are reviewed regularly, and demonstrably inform leaning and practice development.

* Provide leadership in clinical practice and act as a resource and role model.
* Working collaboratively with fellow healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
* Foster positive relationships with residents and their families, providing emotional support and guidance throughout their dementia journey.
* Serve as an advocate for residents, ensuring their voices are heard and their preferences are respected in all aspects of care delivery.
* Participate in ongoing education and training initiatives to stay abreast of advancements in dementia care and nursing practice.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of dementia-friendly initiatives within the organization.
* Exceptional empathy and communication skills, with the ability to connect with residents and their families on a personal level.
* Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities, with a focus on person-centered care.
* Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards challenges and opportunities in dementia care.
Qualifications
Essential:
* A registered General Nurse or Psychiatric Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be entitled to be so registered.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* EU/EEA citizenship
* Minimum of 2 year post graduate experience with experience of working at a Senior Staff Nurse / Acting CNM level
