Sales & Business Development Manager
Location: Leinster-based with an all-Ireland remit (frequent travel required)

Overview:
Our client, a market leader in their sector, is seeking a commercially driven Sales and Business Development Manager to lead their national sales function. This is a pivotal role focused on accelerating growth, driving new revenue streams, and building long-term strategic partnerships with key clients including AMBA, Nissan Ireland, Fane Valley, and Dunnes Stores.
As a senior commercial leader, you'll shape market strategies, develop high-value partnerships, and lead a dynamic sales team. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong execution mindset and the ability to translate market insights into profitable action.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
1. Lead, coach, and develop the sales team to achieve commercial goals and KPIs.
2. Conduct weekly task reviews and one-to-one performance meetings with Regional Managers.
3. Manage direct reports and oversee any third-party agencies aligned to business development.
4. Contribute to commercial planning, forecasting, and budgeting at senior level.
Growth & Partnerships
5. Drive commercial strategy to deliver sales growth and expand market presence.
6. Identify and secure new commercial channels and strategic partnerships.
7. Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts, holding full P&L responsibility.
8. Negotiate commercial agreements to ensure sustainable, profitable returns.
9. Broaden the range of products and services in response to customer needs and market demand.
Business Development
10. Lead the full tendering process, from proposal development to client presentation.
11. Develop compelling value propositions tailored to strategic sectors.
12. Proactively target and onboard new customers through solution-led sales approaches.
Commercial Strategy & Market Intelligence
13. Oversee pricing, channel strategies, and promotional planning.
14. Monitor competitor activity and market trends to guide commercial decision-making.
15. Analyse customer performance and adjust account priorities accordingly.
Innovation & Operational Excellence
16. Champion CRM system adoption and usage across the sales function.
17. Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless delivery.
18. Align with merchandising and sales support teams to ensure consistent market presence.
Company Engagement
19. Lead weekly sales meetings and quarterly updates to the Board.
20. Represent the company at townhalls, industry events, and trade shows.
What You'll Bring
21. 5+ years' experience in a commercial or business development role, ideally in the lubricants or a related B2B environment.
22. A proven track record in delivering new revenue streams and driving commercial success.
23. Strategic mindset with hands-on ability to execute in market and client development.
24. Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and deal-closing skills.
25. Strong commercial acumen with forecasting and budgeting capability.
26. Analytical approach with the ability to translate data into action.
