In this role, the successful candidate will take the lead in real time in controlling and adjusting live operations overnight whilst preparing the plans for the day ahead. You will be able to communicate effectively with our drivers and your colleagues and will be involved in all aspects of the required transport administration processes and co-ordination.Duties And ResponsibilitiesThe key remit within the Transport Operations Specialist role is to maintain control of our operations overnight, with responsibility for ensuring that all planned activities are executed, and to make the appropriate adjustments where this has not been possible. Key roles and responsibilities include:Organise collection and shipping of trailers to and from Dublin portEnsure cross-checking of all customs clearanceOversee night to night operations across all operational functions, including drivers, deliveries, incidences, and planningMonitor all drivers real time deliveries and provide instruction and support to always ensure a high standard of customer satisfactionWork with the pool of available drivers to address any unaccompanied trailers arriving into Dublin portEnsure loaded trailers leaving Dublin port unaccompanied do so promptly and safelyMaintain constant communications with the warehouse team as trailers become ready for dispatchPrepare paperwork for drivers deliveriesProvide a smooth handover to the daytime teamKnowledge, Skills And Experience Required (Essential)A minimum 2 years previous experience of working within the transport industryPrevious Customer Service Experience Essential, Via Telephone And EmailAttention to detailAbility to communicate at all levelsExcellent organisational skills and prioritising workloadWorking to deadlinesAble to work as part of a team and on own initiativeNote: This description is intended to be a guide of what duties are most likely to be but should not be taken as a definitive list.
