We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Specialist – Skin Cancer for our hospital in Dublin,Ireland.
Responsibilities Provide specialised skin cancer nursing care, including comprehensive assessment, care planning, case management and symptom management in collaboration with the MDT.
Lead and coordinate nurse-led skin cancer clinics, investigations, treatment pathways, follow-up, referral processes and pre-assessment protocols.
Monitor treatment responses, update care plans, and ensure all PPPGs and best-practice guidelines (including HIQA and NCCP) are implemented.
Act as a key communicator and patient advocate—supporting patients and families with education, counselling, information, and involvement in decision-making.
Maintain databases, clinical records, MDT outcomes and KPIs; participate in audits, research, quality improvement and service evaluation.
Provide leadership within the Skin Cancer Service, contributing to clinical standards, policy development, service planning and integrated care pathways.
Collaborate effectively with MDT colleagues across primary and secondary care to ensure seamless, person-centred service delivery.
Support staff education through training, mentorship, preceptorship, protocol development and promoting a strong clinical learning environment.
Ensure high professional standards, confidentiality, equipment knowledge, complaint handling and compliance with hospital procedures.
Participate in national and organisational meetings, research initiatives and continuous professional development to maintain specialist expertise.
Requirements Must be registered (or eligible for registration) with the NMBI in the appropriate division; exceptional cases may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Minimum 1 year post-registration experience plus 1 year specialist experience in the relevant area, or willingness to gain this specialist experience with support.
Hold a Level 9 (or higher) qualification relevant to the specialist area, or be willing to undertake the required postgraduate education with organisational support.
Demonstrate strong clinical, managerial and administrative capability, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Show evidence of ongoing learning and continuing professional development.
