Job Summary:
The Environmental Health Specialist plays a key role in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. This involves ensuring that all national and global Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations are met.
A critical part of this role is supporting the safety of the site team and contractors.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Manage day-to-day EHS activities to ensure full compliance with local, national, and European regulations.
2. Implement and execute EHS programs, processes, and industry best practices.
3. Maintain excellent site-specific EHS programs and plans.
4. Provide guidance and interpretation of EHS regulations and requirements affecting the site to the management team and team members.
5. Partner with teams to manage site EHS compliance activities (inspections, training, monitoring, sampling).
6. Drive EHS compliance through audits, process, equipment review, and site inspections.
7. Lead site risk reduction and environmental improvement activities.
8. Manage site EHS training program and EHS budgets.
9. Complete all site regulatory monitoring (Annual environmental reports, Emissions calculations) and work closely with the site customer to ensure timely submission of reports.
10. Lead site injury and illness prevention program.
11. Work cooperatively with wider EHS resources on business projects and initiatives.
12. Manage IEL Licence, Greenhouse gas emissions licence, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience in a similar regulated industry or engineering environment.
* Power Plant or industry experience or similar is a benefit.
