Responsibilities
:
1. Review coverage for new loss notices and set up claims in the reinsurance system.
2. Review iing claim correspondence on existing claims and create workflows in the reinsurance system.
3. Review claims status in reinsurance system diary for the assigned examiner(s).
4. Prepare payment requests for authorisation and liaise with reinsurance accounting units to ensure prompt settlement of payment requests.
5. Prepare monthly management reports for the VP Reinsurance Claims.
6. Assist the VP Reinsurance Claims in putting together and submitting claims documentation to Internal and external audits of the Claims Team.
7. Assist the Senior Claim Analysts with preparations and coordination of external audits if needed.
8. Maintain ongoing liaison with underwriters and brokers concerning contract terms, updates, and corrections in the reinsurance system.
9. Maintain department studies, reports and records as required.
10. Manage assigned accounts and claims under the direction and authorisation of the VP Reinsurance Claims and the Senior Claim Analysts
11. Understand general claim terminology to properly attach notices to the applicable agreements and existing claim files.
12. Special projects as required.
Qualifications
Person Specification
13. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is an advantage.
14. Insurance related courses or certificates are an advantage.
15. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
16. Strong business writing skills
17. The ability to work in a team environment.
18. Willingness to learn new skills.
19. Excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently.
20. Ability to work unsupervised.
21. Fluency in written English is a requirement and a 2nd European language is an advantage.
22. Enthusiastic and curious attitude.
