Our client is an Irish Contractor who undertake commercial and residential projects
They are seeking a Project Manager for an immediate start to oversee a new build multi unit structural steel frame and cladding package based in Ballymount due to last 2-3 years.
To comply with Health & Safety legislation, the Company Safety Statement, Policies and Procedures.
Support the role of the Company HSEQ Manager, Site Health and Safety Manager and
Site Health and Safety Advisors during the construction stage.
Provide good Safety leadership by attending required meetings and ensure that health and safety issues arising in the project are dealt with by the Site Management Team.
In conjunction with the Contracts Manager and Company HSEQ Manager ensure that there are sufficient and adequate resources, to ensure that Health and Safety can be adequately addressed on site.
Take leadership and control of overall project planning, coordination, design, quality and construction of the project.
Develop and issue projected programmes for review/agreement. Identify key milestones. Amend and update as necessary.
Aim to deliver the project safely,on time, within budget and as per scope
Attendance at site meetings with the project team (pre-planning/planning/workshops/pre-award/construction stages). Keep records of meetings and ensure items are addressed as necessary
Ensure all Project/Design Team are aware of target dates, quality standards and costs.
Maintain constant communication with the Design Team to ensure design is progressed to construction stage as per clients requirements and standards
Keep records of communications from key stakeholders, Design team, local authorities, utility companies etc.
Ensure that all works are progressed to correct Building standards and regulations.
Quality management and BCAR co-ordination.
Maintain records and work with the ESG team in order to deliver ESG requirements. Act as an ESG Champion for the site in question.
Chair Design and Construction meetings with Project Team in order to monitor Health & Safety, Programme, Quality & Design.
In conjunction with the Contracts Manager and Quantity Surveyor assist with procurement of contracts for the project. Attend pre-tender and pre-award meetings with subcontractors.
Ongoing day to day interaction with appointed sub-contractors to address design queries, coordination of works, variations to contracts, health & safety issues.
Implement risk management processes, review risk register and check risk controls.
Identify potential risks at an early stage via lessons learned on previous projects.
Create and maintain good relationships with the general public and surrounding neighbours.
Work within company policies and procedures as detailed in company handbook.
Manage and monitor site team/subcontractors to ensure company processes and procedures are adhered to.
Liaise with Local Authority and Utility bodies. Build and maintain good relationships
Produce and analyse progress reports. Address and communicate with relevant persons.
Be commercially aware throughout the project from beginning to end.
Support and take direction from the Contracts Director/Contracts Manager and report any concerns to Contracts Manager.
Be aware of latest construction technologies and changes in legislation to avoid future issues with the Project.
Allocate responsibilities to site based team. Encourage and motivate individuals as necessary.
Provide clear and concise communication to Project team and Subcontractors.
Requirements
A third level qualification in Civil / Structural Engineering or Construction Management
Min 10 years' experience in the construction industry with a Main Contractor or Developer, with at least 3 years Project Management experience.
Experience in the execution of projects from planning, through design and procurement and the construction stage.
Proven ability/ track record to manage design teams, subcontractors and their own direct team and to deliver projects to a high quality, safely, on time and within budget.
Site development infrastructure experience and experience of delivering commercial buildings.
Very good spoken and written communication skills.
Good at working with people at all levels and working in a team environment.
Good Commercial awareness.
IT Skills Microsoft OfficeMicrosoft ProjectPowerPointAutoCAD is desirable but not a requirement.SharePoint
Good knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
Good knowledge of Construction Contracts and Subcontract terms and conditions.
Good knowledge of current building regulations.
Experience with carrying out the inspection and recording required under the BCAR process.
Excellent communication skills.
