Overview
Resident Engineer & Senior Resident Engineer – responsible for managing and supervising large transport infrastructure projects across Ireland.
Responsibilities
Site supervision of large transport infrastructure projects.
Liaison between Employer’s Representative (ER) / contractor and client Quality Control to ensure works comply with the contract.
Maintain integrity of existing services and ensure materials are used per specification and design.
Ensure appropriate placement of materials, adequate backfill, compaction and correct testing with reporting of non‑compliances.
Execute setting‑out of works and notify ER of on‑site changes, liaising with client technical staff to avoid detrimental effects on client assets.
Verify that all Traffic Management Plans and construction phasing are as agreed with the client and comply with the relevant traffic legislation.
Ensure compliance with all relevant licence conditions for the works.
Monitor progress against the construction programme.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Chartered Engineer.
Strong project management experience.
At least 7 years of relevant experience in design and supervision of traffic / road / drainage schemes.
Familiarity with various ‘Conditions of Contract’; experience with Public Works Contract administration is essential.
Good understanding of current safety & health legislation on construction sites.
Experience in site administration and agreeing payments to contractors.
Full Irish/EU driving licence.
Valid current SAFEPASS card.
