Job Description
Assoc. Scientist, Microbiology – shift role (primarily extended days) providing support to laboratory operations in a new facility, including equipment qualification, SOP development, laboratory data analysis, inventory management, cleanliness, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Responsibilities

Support laboratory operations within the new laboratory facility on a shift basis, primarily extended days.
Assist in equipment qualification (PQ), SOP and work instruction documentation, and contribute to lab and process establishment.
Review, trend, and report laboratory data to support batch data generation and collate/analyze raw data for quarterly and year‑end reports.
Maintain and release laboratory stock; order consumables as needed.
Manage routine cleaning of laboratory equipment per site procedures, maintain housekeeping standards, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Respond to standard requests from partners, customers, and clients (internal and/or external).
Participate in functional meetings and facilitate cross‑functional meetings.
Participate in laboratory investigations and root‑cause analysis activities.
Participate in internal and external audits and inspections.
Participate in SME development groups to improve technical expertise.
Support general lab operations: run the business tasks such as EM, facility testing, method verifications, and execution of laboratory studies as required.
Apply knowledge of GMP and familiarity with USP, EP, JP requirements.
Support introduction of novel, innovative solutions and support testing of biologics within the facility.
Solve problems and apply new perspectives with a continuous improvement mindset.
Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting, problem‑solving, collaboration, and teamwork skills with global and interdisciplinary teams.
Promote team effectiveness and respect diverse populations.
Ensure timely training completion and coach team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Degree in a relevant field (Biological Sciences, Engineering, or microbiology).
1‑3 years experience in a relevant academic or industry role (internships and student placements considered).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Knowledge of biologics manufacturing and microbiological testing techniques.
Experience with laboratory systems such as LIMS, E‑logs, MODA, and electronic notebooks.
Logical, proactive thinker under pressure.
Strong communication skills and ability to train other analysts.
