Are you a passionate backend engineer looking to make a real impact in a collaborative, product-focused environment? At Propylon, part of the RWS Group, we’re building innovative legislative and regulatory software that transforms how governments and organisations manage complex information. We’re currently hiring multiple Backend Engineers to join our TimeArc and LWB360 teams. These teams are rapidly growing to support major client projects while continuously expanding and evolving our products. You’ll contribute to highly meaningful platforms built with Python and Django, helping shape both architecture and engineering practices alongside a team that values craftsmanship, ownership, and continuous improvement.

These roles are based in our Dublin HQ (Rathfarnham, South Dublin) with a flexible hybrid model that supports regular home working and promotes work-life balance.
Responsibilities
* Work with technical team leads to design overall application architecture
* Work with the team to develop and implement custom components to seamlessly integrate existing systems with Propylon’s TimeArc and LWB360 suite of products
* Contribute to product architecture and design
* Participate in code reviews
Requirements
* Excellent understanding of the Python programming language, its ecosystem, and idioms.
* 3+ years of professional experience with Python-based MVC framework, preferably Django.
* Experience developing application APIs that utilize data and functionality exposed via REST, GraphQL, RPC etc.
* Excellent working knowledge of SQL-based RDBMS, e.g. Postgres, MySQL.
* Experience with modern Python features such as type hinting, async, data classes, etc.
* Familiarity with Docker and related containerization technologies.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience working in a multifunctional team.
Nice to have
* Experience with XML processing/transformation.
* Experience with document management/document workflow software and/or SAS products.
* Familiarity or work experience with DevOps workflow/principles, building CI/CD pipelines, with AWS fundamentals.
