The Role: Our Support Workers play a vital role in providing key-working support to individuals who use our services. Their responsibilities include ensuring high-quality provision of supports in line with current policy, which includes assisting individuals with daily living skills that promote independence.
Main Responsibilities:
* Supporting individuals with daily living skills such as food and nutrition, personal development, and physical well-being.
* Assisting individuals with the development of individual plans and achieving associated outcomes.
* Supporting individuals in participating in community life through inclusive and creative thinking.
Reporting Structure: Support Workers will report to Team Leaders, Senior Staff, Service Coordinators, or Area Managers.
Qualifications: A good general education is required, and a recognized qualification in intellectual disability or a FETAC level 5 course is desirable.
Experience: Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and challenging behavior is beneficial.
Skills: Candidates must demonstrate flexibility, communication, and team-working skills, as well as enthusiasm for the role. Basic IT skills and a full clean manual Irish driving license (Class B) are also essential requirements.
Working Hours: The successful candidate will work a variety of shifts, including weekends, public holidays, split duty hours, night duty, and sleepover duty. Working hours will be based on a 14-day roster.
Annual Leave: The employee will receive 22 days of annual leave per annum.
Remuneration: The Department of Health Care Assistant (Disability Services) pay scale will apply, with increments up to €46,190 pro rata per annum. Long Service Increment (LSI) of €46,984 per annum will be payable after three years on the maximum of the scale.
Tenure: These posts are permanent, part-time, and pensionable. A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies.
