The Chief Corporate Services Office within the Group has a mission of ensuring the highest standards of excellence in delivering group strategy, sustainability, public relations and Enterprise Security activities and initiatives.
The Opportunity
The Sustainability Reporting Manager will lead this drive for excellence, managing and overseeing the development and execution of the sustainability strategy in close collaboration with the Head of Strategy and Policy to align with the overall Group Strategy.
The role holder will drive excellence in sustainability performance monitoring and reporting, providing challenge to the business and ensuring that targets proposed by the business are appropriate, meaningful, measurable and stretching, and that the Group satisfies its external disclosure requirements.
The role holder will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
The role holder will be results-oriented with strong people leadership, influencing and communication skills.
The Team
The Group's Chief Corporate Services Office aims to maintain the highest standards of excellence in strategy, sustainability, public relations and Enterprise Security activities and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Sustainability and ESG monitoring and reporting processes throughout the business.
Lead and manage the production of the Group's annual Sustainability and ESG reports and disclosures, delivering accurate, robust, timely reports including supporting narratives.
Support environmental disclosure assurance in collaboration with Internal Audit and third party auditors.
Support the development and execution of the Group's Sustainability Strategy (focused on ESG elements) and associated targets with reference to current and upcoming regulations and goals.
Review and advise on initiatives proposed by the business to ensure alignment with the Group's disclosure requirements.
Embed sustainability into decision making throughout the organisation.
Ensure strategic and business issues are highlighted appropriately to management and Executive leadership teams.
Deliver excellence in sustainability reporting to internal stakeholders including the EirGrid plc Board, and externally as required.
Represent the Group externally as required at conferences and external fora.
Critical knowledge, skills and experience
Qualified to degree level or professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
Prior experience working in the electricity sector and/or a regulated environment is helpful, but not essential.
Knowledge of the implementation of ESG principles within an organisation, development of and implementation of ESG strategy and experience of developing systems to meet external ESG disclosure requirements.
Experience in sustainability disclosures, reporting and supporting communications.
Familiarity with emerging sustainability disclosure requirements, frameworks and best practices.
Ability to operate outside of direct expertise, in particular engaging with technical specialists, to gather relevant information.
Knowledge and experience of collaboration with internal functions including Finance and Treasury on supporting disclosure requirements for sustainability-linked finance products.
Strategic and operational thinker with the ability to implement operational solutions in a cross-functional environment.
Ability to build credibility and strong relationships with stakeholders in a cross-functional environment with the ability to influence and engage in constructive challenge.
