Responsibilities
* Design and implement Azure-based database solutions using services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Cache for Redis, and Azure Data Factory.
* Optimize database performance, scalability, and reliability.
* Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
* Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, ensuring high availability and data integrity.
* Automate database deployments and updates using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Bicep.
* Collaborate with development teams to support data modelling, schema design, and query optimization.
* Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards.
* Maintain documentation and provide knowledge sharing across teams.
All About You
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience with Azure database services (e.g., Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL).
* Strong proficiency in T-SQL, PL/pgSQL, or equivalent.
* Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for database deployments.
* Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).
* Understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance (e.g., GDPR).
* Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent.
* Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments.
* Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
* Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python).
