Job Overview
This Compliance Officer AVP role is based in Ireland and provides compliance advisory support as the second line of defence for the Irish entities, including products and services such as Depositary, Custody, Fund Administration, Transfer Agency, Middle Office, and Global Delivery functions of State Street. The individual will assist in providing compliance advice to local management, assess compliance risks, monitor activities, stay updated on regulatory developments, liaise with regulators, and provide independent viewpoints on Compliance Risk, escalating material matters as needed.
Ideal Candidate
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, efficient, an excellent communicator and collaborator, and eager to build a network across teams and jurisdictions. The candidate should be driven, innovative, and experienced in compliance, legal, or audit functions within the Financial Services sector, preferably with experience in the Funds Industry. The preferred location is Kilkenny, with a hybrid model of 2-3 days on-site.
Main Responsibilities
Support the Ireland Compliance Advisory team in assessing compliance risks and executing the Compliance Oversight Program.
Manage communications with the Central Bank of Ireland and maintain relationships with the business.
Review regulatory activities, risk assessments, and oversee testing activities for monitoring compliance.
Engage with business units regarding regulatory obligations and support resolution of compliance issues.
Stay informed on regulatory updates, interpret legislation, and provide feedback to stakeholders.
Prepare reports for Senior Management on Compliance Risks and Program progress.
Assist in preparing materials for governance forums and participate in meetings.
Participate in client due diligence reviews.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Legal, or related field, or relevant experience.
Professional compliance or legal qualification is advantageous.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in funds.
Strong IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Additional Requirements
The role is classified as CF2 under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity regime. Candidates must comply with relevant fitness and probity requirements.
