Senior Machine Vision Engineer
About the Role:
The Senior Machine Vision Engineer is responsible for leading the implementation of machine vision projects, conducting code review and debugging, investigating issues, and providing training to engineering personnel. This role requires expertise in machine vision engineering, particularly in a regulated high-volume automated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Machine Vision Projects: Assist in the development and deployment of machine vision solutions, mainly in Cognex Insight Spreadsheet environment.
- Code Review and Debugging: Conduct thorough reviews and debugging of bespoke vision jobs and algorithms to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Issue Investigation and Resolution: Investigate issues and develop effective solutions for machine vision applications, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Vision Training: Provide training to engineering personnel on machine vision best practices, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
Requirements:
- A degree in Engineering or Science equivalent.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent is desirable.
- At least 5 years of experience in machine vision engineering, preferably in a regulated high-volume automated manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in Cognex Insight hardware/software platform (spreadsheet environment) for at least 5 years.
- Experience with optics, lighting techniques, troubleshooting/diagnostics, and vision algorithm development, with interfaces to PLC/HMI systems.
- Extensive knowledge of vision tools such as histograms, edge tools, blob tools, OCR, logic, image processing techniques, and job profiling.
- Completion of Cognex advanced spreadsheet training, Cognex Vision Pro, Designer, and Keyence vision systems.
- Good knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods.
- Experience with GDP/GMP/GAMP.
