A leading Irish fintech company specializing in cross-border payment solutions is seeking a Senior Business Development Executive to drive strategic growth across Europe. This senior-level role is ideal for a commercially minded professional with knowledge of international payments and FX, who thrives in a consultative, net-new business development environment. Reporting to the Head of Customer Success, the successful candidate will identify and secure new strategic partnerships and clients, working cross-functionally to deliver best-in-class payment solutions and contribute to the company’s continued expansion. This role can be taken up remotely, or out of multiple Irish offices.
Responsibilities:
* Identify, pursue, and manage new business opportunities with strategic partners, payment processors, aggregators, and acquirers to expand cross-border payment offerings.
* Collaborate with internal departments to develop and deliver tailored payment solutions aligned with client needs and market demands.
* Lead commercial proposals, RFPs, and contract negotiations, securing high-value partnerships and managing partner KPIs.
* Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategy, drive innovation, and maintain a competitive edge.
* Build and leverage a strong industry network to establish relationships with key stakeholders including banks, payment processors, acquirers and global aggregators.
* Influence product development by providing market insights and client feedback to support regulatory alignment and enhance product features.
Requirements:
* Over 5 years of consultative B2B sales and business development experience in cross-border payments and FX, with a strong track record of building profitable partnerships with financial institutions, corporates, and PSPs.
* Deep industry knowledge of international payments, FX markets, remittance services, and associated regulatory frameworks (e.g., PSD2, AML, KYC).
* Proven expertise in solution selling, contract negotiation, and managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and build lasting client and partner relationships.
* Strategic thinker with solid analytical skills, capable of anticipating market trends, guiding business strategies, and balancing commercial and compliance priorities.
* Collaborative and results-driven, with a global mindset, experience working across teams, and a consistent history of exceeding sales targets in international markets.
