All members of the Dublin Zoo team are expected to be champions of our CARE Values: we Care, we are A Team, we are Respectful and we are Excellent.About the RoleWe are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and diligent Financial Controller to support a period of Maternity Cover who, under the direction of the Zoo Director, will be responsible for leading and overseeing the Zoo’s financial and accounting operations and ensuring compliance with internal financial procedures and statutory requirements, helping Dublin Zoo to achieve its mission of saving wildlife.ResponsibilitiesDevising and implementing the Zoo’s Financial Plan in line with the 10-year strategic vision ‘Dublin Zoo 200’.Providing consistent, robust and expert financial advice, information and control frameworks to the Zoo Director, Senior Management Team, Finance & Audit Committee and Board of the Zoological Society of Ireland.Accountable for devising and delivering the Financial Plan for Dublin Zoo.Ensuring the charity’s financial health by implementing and overseeing the proper management of all financial and accounting operations.Leading a team of around seven finance, IT and administration professionals.Producing regular budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.Analyzing the charity’s financial situation and ensuring compliance with the financial regulatory environment.Working in close collaboration with the Head of Commercial Operations to deliver business cases, forecasts and scenario planning for existing and new revenue opportunities.QualificationsCandidates must hold a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CPA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).Proven experience in a Financial Controller role (minimum of 3 years PQE).Required SkillsExcellent leadership skills with ability in team development and people management.Substantial experience of devising and overseeing budgetary, financial and accounting procedures.Robust knowledge of the requirements of operating in a charity regulatory environment.Preferred SkillsA passion for wildlife and sustainable living.An understanding of conservation is desirable.Pay range and compensation packageTo be discussed during the interview process.Equal Opportunity StatementDublin Zoo is committed to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
