Person in Charge / Community Manager About the Role We are seeking an inspiring and values-driven Person in Charge (PIC) to provide overall leadership and day-to-day management of one of our Communities. This is a pivotal role with responsibility for ensuring that adults supported by the Community experience a safe, inclusive, and fulfilling life, rooted in their ethos of community, dignity, and person-centred support. You will lead the Community in delivering high-quality residential, supported living, and day services, ensuring compliance with HIQA standards while fostering a culture where individuals are supported to achieve their ambitions and live meaningful lives. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Community Development Provide strong, values-based leadership to the Community, promoting the company's ethos and principles at all levels. Line manage and support the management team, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and motivation to fulfil their roles. Work collaboratively with staff, coworkers, and residents to plan and develop services that enhance quality of life for all. Build an inspiring and sustainable model of community living and social enterprise for disabled adults. Governance & Strategic Management Report regularly to the National Senior Management Team (SMT) on Community operations and developments. Provide strategic advice to the SMT and Regional Manager regarding Community business and future planning. Direct and manage Community resources in line with agreed business plans, policies, and procedures. Develop, implement, and review annual business plans in consultation with coworkers and residents. Effectively manage change to ensure the Community remains responsive, compliant, and sustainable. Quality, Compliance & Risk Management Be accountable for the overall provision of services across designated centres, supported living accommodation, and day services. Ensure full compliance with HIQA standards, HSE Service Agreements, and all regulatory requirements. Maintain excellent working relationships with the HSE and relevant external stakeholders. Promote a culture of zero tolerance to abuse, ensuring safeguarding is embedded in all aspects of service delivery. Ensure robust risk management systems are in place, with health and safety standards consistently met. Oversee effective record-keeping, monitoring, reporting, and audits to meet funder and regulatory requirements. Ensure complaints, safeguarding, and protection concerns are managed in line with organisational policies. Person-Centred Practice & Quality of Life Ensure individuals experience a high quality of life through strong person-centred planning, assessments, and reviews. Promote choice, independence, and control for residents in their daily lives. Support individuals to build citizenship, maintain family and social relationships, and access advocacy and professional supports. Ensure health promotion, support plans, and personal risk assessments are in place and regularly reviewed. About You You will be a compassionate, capable leader with: Strong knowledge of residential and community-based disability services. Excellent understanding of HIQA regulations and the role of the Principal Person in Charge. Proven experience in leadership, governance, and managing complex services.
