Environmental Technician Newry Permanent Our client based in Newry, are recruiting for an Environmental Technician to join their team. You will have a diploma/ degree in Environmental Science and proven track record in environmental site assessments and strong knowledge of wastewater treatment systems. The Role: Carryout field screening and environmental site assessments Environmental delineation - retrieval of soil, water & air sampling Preparing / delivery of site environmental site assessment reports Preparing / delivery of site-specific health & safety files Remediation site project management Oil spill response - first responder/project management Project administration - client requirements, sub-contractor procurement, purchasing ordering, material / plant sourcing, office duties Assisting contract managers to deliver projects on time and within budget Waste water treatment system site suitability assessments Waste water treatment inspections, sampling & analysis Systems reporting. Essential Skills: Education & Qualifications Diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Health & Safety certification or training is an advantage Technical Skills Proven experience in field screening and environmental site assessments. Competence in soil, water, and air sampling techniques. Strong report writing skills (site assessments, health & safety files, systems report) Knowledge of remediation site management and wastewater treatment systems. Experience in oil spill response (first responder and project management). Ability to conduct sampling, inspections, and data analysis. Project & Administrative Skills Strong project management skills, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. Experience with sub-contractor management, procurement, and material sourcing. Good organisational and administrative abilities. Soft Skills Excellent communication and client management skills. Ability to consistently meet client expectations and service-level agreements. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in teams. Commitment to achieving project goals and company performance targets.
